Shredding the Mortgage

It is normally the practice to “Burn the mortgage” after it is paid off but that was impractical to do here in Church. It was decided to “Shred the Mortgage” instead. The church obtained a 30 yr mortgage in the fall of 1999… so if we paid it off last fall we paid it off in 22 years, 8 years early. Fr. Larry Hill was the founding Rector of Holy Trinity in 1995 and Fr. Joseph Trollinger, who was ordained in 1996, was his assistant till he retired in 2013.
