This morning, Reema spoke from 2 Corinth. 4:7-5:5 on how God has entrusted his treasure to us, we who are broken and weak jars of clay. This treasure is the message of the gospel, we carry it with us wherever we go. Because we have this treasure we have a hope that can’t be stolen, this affects the way we go through all types of circumstances.

Lydia then led the time of prayer, praying:

• For our children and youth, as groups have started again, that they would feel comfortable coming along. They would feel safe and and have good conversations

• Thanks to God for the treasure he has given us, and that we can go out and tell people about the treasure

• For those who are feeling perplexed and suppressed, and that God would give them hope today

This morning, Jamie spoke from Ephesians 1:15-23.

Jo then led the time of prayer, praying:

• That the eyes of our hearts will be enlightened

• That we will respond to our calling to hope

• That we will minister with power and authority

• That we will live out the fullness of Christ

This morning, James spoke from Romans 6:1-14 on how we can sometimes think that it is okay to keep sinning because we have grace, but we are dead to that sin. That is not who we are. As Jesus was buried and then raised to new life, we too have died with Christ and been raised to new life. In order that we are alive to God in Christ Jesus.

Matt then led the time of prayer, praying:

• We would know who we are in Christ, we would die to sin and know that we are alive in Christ

• That we allow the Holy Spirit to convict us, showing us where sin is ruling in our lives, and that we know afresh what it means to be raised with Christ and alive in him

• For Revitalise 250, that it would be for God's glory. That we would have more congregational involvement and that the plans go through and are supported

This morning, Jago spoke from 1 Peter 1:3-9.

Rory then led the time of prayer, praying:

• That we would have renewed confidence in our certain hope

• That this certain hope would impact how we live now, and that Clapham and all of the surrounding communities will come to know Jesus as their certain hope

This morning, Ros spoke from 1 Thessalonians 4:13-5:11.

James then led the time of prayer, starting in praise and worship using this line:

‘I will extol the Lord at all times; his praise will always be on my lips.’

Psalm 34:1

After Ros’ talk there was prayer that we that we would know:

• The resurrection matters when we face death

- Pray for those grieving at the moment particularly the family and friends of Shenali and all those on the bereavement journey course

• The resurrection matters when we face life

- Pray that we would live knowing that Jesus will return

- Pray that Alpha guests, foodbank guests, colleagues, friends, family find hope and purpose through the resurrection of Jesus

This morning, Ben spoke on the Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus (Luke 19) and the challenging message it offers: that our earthly decisions have eternal implications.

Emma then led the time of prayer, praying:

• That we would use what we have to help others (“in your lifetime you received good things, while Lazarus received bad things...”)

• That we would take God at his word and be obedient (“if they don’t believe Moses and the prophets they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead...”)

This morning, Hope spoke from Romans 8:18-27.

Amanda then led the time of prayer, praying:

• God's kingdom to come

• For the multiply series - that we would be like the early church. Looking to God's kingdom in evangelism, in service and in giving

• For those who are on the Bereavement Journey and anyone else who has experience loss in the past year

This morning Tim spoke from 1 Corinth. 15:35-57.

Hope then led the time of prayer, praying:

• Thanks to Jesus that he has won the victory on the cross

• To help us give ourselves fully to his work, and to know that our labours are not in vain

This morning Emma spoke to us from 1 Corinth. 15:12-33.

Tim then led the time of prayer, praying:

• That God would give us his hope again today. That we would know that hope, and that others would also. Such as those on the Alpha courses that are starting tomorrow

• For those on the Bereavement Journey course. For all of those who have lost people they love, that they would know the hope of Jesus Christ and the resurrection of Jesus and therefore us from the dead

This morning Philippa Flynn spoke from Luke 24:36-49 on Commissioning the Church.

Ros then led the time of prayer, praying:

• Giving thanks for reduced Covid infections, the vaccine rollout, that his mercies and faithfulness are new every morning

• For Alpha, that we would be bold in our prayers

• For our church community to increase and continued provision towards Revitalise 250
