Bible Reading: Luke 2:4-12, Matthew 13:55 & Hebrews 3:1-6
Preacher: Pastor Jonathan Hoffman
Date: 25th December 2025 (Christmas Day)
Big Idea - There is peace for us in the house of God
SERIES OVERVIEW
In the liturgical calendar, we find ourselves in the season of “Advent” which is a word that indicates the coming or arrival of someone. Naturally, we think of Jesus and his birth at this time of year, as the arrival of Immanuel.
This year, the theme for our Advent series is “home” because when the gospel announces that God has come to earth in Jesus, this is only just the beginning. As Jesus came to make us God’s children, so too he came to bring us into God’s home.
We might well say the gospel is the story of how God made his home with us, so that we might find our home in Him. Throughout the history of God’s people, they have been looking for the place where God dwells with his people in peace, forever.
