From my very first virtual impression of Topher Gardner, I deemed him to be a bonafide Renaissance Man.

Now, after speaking with him at length, I think he would describe himself simply as a Man... 

A Man is not one thing, one energy: he is tasked with his own sculpting to create stability, respect and impact in his world. I must admit: this installment of HCH is a bit of a rap, rant and riff ... such is my experience lately.

This Summer has been the quintessential height of activity: sweating, striving and seeking more ways to connect with people and playing all the while. Still, there is no shortage of "happenings" in the World, and I often encounter the consternation on the faces around me that makes me think, "Am I missing out on something..."

Taking a beat in this moment to feel the full cycle of work-rest-work-rest etc ... 

For now, I feel contented by the combination of curiosity and experience that has produced some deep reflections, taken into my Places of Play. That's why I sat down for a casual chat with me, my Self and You all!

So much has yet to be said - and still to be written - about the EPIC showdown between the stunning superstar Carlos Alcaraz and his friendly foil, Jannik Sinner...

As someone who has been both a fan and a student of the artistry of tennis, this match belongs among the annals of truly great battles. This episode had been brewing for some time since I took a night and morning to watch the Final... and as with all things that are out-of-time-and-space, it is a challenge to adequately articulate the meaning of this singular spectacle.

I do my best to recapitulate the important moments and statistics of this good ole fashioned scrap that took place in Paris three hot weeks ago ... there were many over the course of almost six hours, and one crucial detail was this: NO ONE LEFT THE COURT THE WHOLE TIME!

A throwback and a look-forward, a marriage of past and future, there were countless plot lines that mapped out a memorable landscape for this French Open Final. I trust you will enjoy my particular take, including some technical input, historical context, and persona profiling... all that you can expect on a regular basis for these Tennis Shows.

Coach Tony Holler had me from the jump with his outstanding mantra and branding of FEED THE CATS

Now, how does one feed the cats, you wonder? Tony's philosophy after decades in basketball and track coaching in Illinois formed under the conditions of an epiphany, when he realized that cats require the conditions to support their natural speed and spring, something we as upright cats also possess...

When I encountered Tony's work, it was via an Instagram clip where Tony was presenting on the concept that fatigue is our enemy, not something we should be embracing day-in-and-out on the practice field. As someone who is constantly thinking of the bio-battery, I was instantly aligned with his concepts of freshness and vitality to support our highest athletic expression.

Beyond the track, I was moved by Coach Tony's desire to create experiences that are fun, energetic, memorable and formative for young athletes, stemming from an organic mission to use sports as an avenue for character development.

Our talk today was a highlight of my podcasting journey, to rap and rant and reflect with someone making an impact on his sphere of influence and beyond.

From the Hill Country of Bandera, Texas, I found my people!

They came from all across the Earth to convene for many purposes, not least of all being the purpose of Conscious Community Building. It was such a tremendous gift to dive right into the deep end in each and every conversation with fellow Truth-Seekers, Healers, Creators, Leaders, Nurturers, Teachers and Students alike ...

We were blessed to drink a depthless draught of Wisdom, courtesy of many leading figures in the generous of what is Good, True and Beautiful in this world... over four days, it is hard to calculate the downloads of expansive and nourishing information that we all carry with us into our respective sphere of influence.

'Confluence' is defined as "an act or process of merging". We successfully completed the process of merging virtual connection with intimate in-person relating. We achieved the merger between thought and action, and are called to continue that process over and over again, as we create the more beautiful world our hearts know is possible.

This episode is one part highlight reel, one part advertisement for next year, and ninety-eight parts GRATITUDE for the inspiration, vindication and elevation that was circulated all week long.

Plenty of happenings have made me smile with a sense of humility and hilarity at the circumstances of my life. There is no shortage of revelations that come from an inquisitive nature, and as someone better than me recently said, "My open mind is closed for repairs."

Sometimes, it pays to sit in silence with the questions that we are confounded by, entertaining that the funniest answer is often the most likely, AKA Owen's law.

Today, I felt compelled to rap and rant about some goings-on lately that made me feel bonafide in my role as the Fool, making light of the obvious and touching the darkness of the unknown with tantalizing queries...

Amidst the excitement of making the shift to HOME COURT HEALTH, I was plagued by feelings of despair...

At the risk of sounding melodramatic, this was a very real sensation of inaction and doubt that made me feel as though things really were not meant to go my way.

A temporary stop on the path to greatness? Perhaps. Still: a very authentic encounter with the Dragon of Doubt recalled my memory of a famous Latin expression: Nihil desperandum = Nothing to Despair.

This podcast is a reflection on the revelations that only occur in darkness, to drive toward the light that is ever present.
