In this special edition of "Who's to Say? with Tom Foolery", I had the distinct pleasure of connecting with someone who is a genuine force of nature in the fitness industry.
My love of fitness has tuned me in to some truly life-changing perspectives, helping me discover new and fun ways to express my God-given physical abilities . Few people have been more influential in the creative elements of that expression than David Weck.
I first listened to David in an interview hosted by the legend Mark Bell while I was working out ahead of a friend's wedding in Atlanta. I distinctly recall having to rewind the podcast several different times to fully appreciate the knowledge being shared. David's unique genius and exceptional aptitude for disseminating his experience was captivating. And the PASSION - wow... even though I wasn't in that room, I could feel his aura palpably, and it inspired me to seek him out for an intersation.
Renowned for his creation the BOSU Ball, David has made countless contributions in the sphere of human movement, applying his brand of genius to innovation of new tools and perspectives that help athletes reach their full potential. He is a world class authority in balance validated by the principles of locomotion, and he has not slowed his pursuit of useful knowledge. His outstanding inventions include the RMT Club, Pro-Pulse Speed Trainers, RMT Rope, SoleSteps, and the new Weck Deck. You can find those tools at the Weck Method website. He developed the BOSU Ball in 1999, and has been a mainstay in the world of physical education ever since, and we are all the better for it.
Our discussion ranges from personal philosophies, staying resilient in the face of doubt and unjust criticism, bouncing back from mental breakdowns, creating change in how we think and move, and many other personally interesting topics. It was a privilege and a pleasure to have this occasion to connect with David, and I hope you can connect with our exploration of ideas, as well.
