Welcome to Home & Hosting with me, Loui Burke.
Based in Melbourne, Australia, I grew up setting tables, making beds and arranging furniture and flowers through my family’s restaurants, accommodation and vineyard.
I then studied design, styling and art direction, and have worked across home, fashion and lifestyle for more than a decade.
Now, I create content full-time in the homemaking space. Consider me your slightly fed-up friend in all things home, hosting and put-together living.
This podcast is where we can sit and chat for longer than a one-minute Reel. It’s where we work out what’s genuinely chic, what’s simply cheap, and why price or the current trend cycle shouldn’t make the decision for you.
We’ll talk interiors, hosting, and the routines and rituals that make everyday life feel infinitely better: a properly made bed, flattering lighting, flowers on the table and an excellent rom-com playlist.
Whether you rent, own or are patiently pretending that dated kitchen doesn’t bother you, I’ll help you understand what the room actually needs: where to invest, where to save, what to move, how to style it properly, and what, quite frankly, needs to leave.
Expect informed advice, strong opinions and the occasional correction for anyone who attended a different finishing school in my comment section.
And if I sound fed up at times, it’s because I am.
Because good design isn’t about buying more.
It’s about knowing better: where form meets function, and when to simply let things breathe.
Follow Home & Hosting with Loui Burke wherever you listen to podcasts.
And let’s get your home, and perhaps your life, properly put together and incredibly chic.
