I hope you enjoy this episode #10. It starts with my June monthly update, then from 1min48sec Shane interviews Jon Shineberg - he's a financial planner at Wealth Market. He helps our customers with personal insurance (trauma cover, TPB, death cover etc). How much does this cost? Can you pay it through your super? Do you really know what you are covered for in your super now (most don't). What time in your life should you be covered? Then the feature topic of the month from 28 min 04 sec is Shane and I chatting about the same topic. We discuss why it's so important to our clients; what is the introduction and experience to expect to get informed (for free) and then to get covered (isn't free !). Thanks Jon, great chat, our clients rave about your caring, informative and clear (but not pushy) support.
This episode starts with the monthly update, then from 2min 35sec Shane Mott interviews Christian Malouf from Advantedge Financial Services. They are a top 10 home loan lender you have probably never heard of - similar to ING, bigger than Suncorp. Hear about white label funding and trends in the industry. Then from 29 min 30 sec join Martin and Shane discussing the factors and steps in selecting a lender. First chat, fact finding, loan types, credit rules, speed of service, culture and a whole lot more. Is it better to go with your current bank or not? #homeloanhacks #firsthomebuyer #loanmarketrichmond
They're back. This month's Home Loan Hacks podcast is Martin and Shane reflecting on what's changed in banking and broking in the past year. Comprehensive Credit Reporting, Best Interest Duty, the changes in Pre-Approvals and Valuations, remote lending (the rise of Zoom), and the speed of a straight through digital process for home loans ... There is also (at the start) the monthly update, then the feature session (from 3 min 40 sec), and then we speculate (at around 28.30 minutes) about the death of the fully assessed pre-approval. It's all been a BIG change this year, and we hope you enjoy this edition.
Elyse Powell is the Principal of Bells Line Legal. Today she talks about the process of buying or selling a home, and things for our clients to watch for in the process. Of course Martin's monthly update is at the top of the show, and his rant about sense of entitlement is at the tail of the show. I hope you enjoy the episode.
I loved this chat with Sam White (Chairman of Loan Market) about his thoughts on leadership, family expectations (great grandson of Ray White), culture, change, and the digital broker age. I ask him about his own growth as a leader over 30 years, and his watershed moment during the Royal Commission - after this time he was recognized with an industry "thought leadership" award. I hope you enjoy this episode as much as I enjoyed filming it.
We also have the normal features from Loan Market Richmond - the monthly update is jam packed given how fast things are moving in the home lending space. Also for a chuckle, the last 2-3 minutes of this podcast is a bit of blooper fun I shared with Sam - he's a great sport.
You'll be inspired by this story of a man who fled war torn Beirut as a child, became a solicitor and the head of a major firm, and has turned his energies to also giving back. His quest to mentor and support others in their efforts to live to their potential in all aspect of their lives is inspiring. His company Higher Branch runs the Upgrade Your Life series which Martin has attended. You're going to enjoy this.
We also have the normal features from Loan Market Richmond - monthly update, client stories, and of course the rant.

He also shares insights on managing your business in a battered economy.

I hope you enjoy the show, from #loanmarketrichmond #homeloanhacks
In the new lending environment prime lenders (like major banks) say "no" to clients much more often. This may be due to late loan payments, overdue cards or loans, bad credit files, or just too many loans and cards to refinance. There are solutions providers in the near prime space that can assist. With comprehensive credit reporting, banks can see so much more on your file. What does that mean?
