What happens when the unthinkable becomes your reality?

On October 7, 2023, Idit Ohel's 22-year-old son, Alon Ohel, was taken hostage by Hamas from the Nova Music Festival and held underground in Gaza for 738 days.

Most of us imagine that in the face of such unimaginable suffering, our only options would be fear, anger, hatred or despair.

Idit chose a different path.

In this conversation, we explore the extraordinary mindset that carried her through nearly two years of uncertainty—not by denying the pain, but by refusing to become defined by it.

We talk about:

• Why she chose to meet hatred with unconditional love.
• How she held space for her son spiritually while being unable to help him physically.
• The difference between pain, trauma and what she calls "positive post-trauma."

If you could only afford therapy or food - which would you choose?

It sounds like an odd question. We'd think that the obvious answer would be food.

That's the choice Dan Pomerantz weighed up at his personal rock bottom... and he chose... therapy.

It was a question of choosing to cultivate inner stability in order to get back on his feet and create the outer safety we all need.

While moving through homelessness, Dan looked to build his internal home which helped him develop the faculties to make the choices which would lead him towards an external life of alignment - eventually becoming the CEO of a company that was driving a mission close to his heart.

This everyday hero episode is with an anonymous meditation student.

My client’s story is one of years of ongoing trauma & high levels of stress and demand. 

No amount of healing was helping her uproot the repetitive cycles in her mind, keeping her locked in the past and in a state of hopelessness and overwhelm in the present and fear about the future.
