The incomparable Helen Patton, granddaughter of General George S Patton Jr, was my guest yesterday afternoon. The Patton Legacy of service stretches almost 300 years, and it continues to this day.  Helen joins me from her home in Sweden, part 1 of a 2 part interview with this incredible woman of great accomplishment in her own right but one of the most eloquent and caring individuals when it comes to the memory of history and our Veterans especially those of her grandfather's service.

Emily is a singer/songwriter and multi-instramentalist from Minnesota. 2015 saw her debut EP, "Quarter Life Crisis" at 25 years old. And, she is currently hard at work on her follow-up release. Her songs have been showcased in commercials, film, non-profit campaigns, stage productions and choral performances.

Her newest song set to debut in time for Veteran's Day 2020 is called, "Battleworn" will be  It highlights the struggle with PTSD and the impact military life and deployments have on more than just the service members.

Lauren has made it her mission to educate our community about Gold Star Families whose loved ones made the ultimate sacrifice defending the United States of America in the armed forces.
Lauren is the Gold Star daughter of Captain Joseph M. Berkson, a  United States Army Ranger who was killed-in-action in Vietnam in  1972.  With the support of the City of West Palm Beach and the community, Lauren led the project to build the Gold Star Families Memorial Monument in Trinity Park along Flagler Drive. 

She worked with the  Hershel Woody Williams Medal of Honor Foundation to realize the  Foundation’s mission of erecting these monuments in all fifty states. 
She is currently working toward placing Gold Star Memorial Markers in 15 locations throughout Palm Beach County.
