Former public educator, mom of two young adults, Kris
LeDonne lives with her husband in northern New Jersey.
She has worked in the memory preservation industry since
2002 and launched her own company in 2018. She started designing albums and photo displays then branched out to digitize old formats & streamline them along with digital photos. Her passion is to create opportunities for stronger relationships through the joy of reminiscence between loved ones.

In this episode Kris and I go into how memories are so central to a home's identity and the people who live there. We share some of our own favourite memories and fully go into the feelings of love and beloging one gets through pouring over photographs.

Today Cassandra Geter shares some of her health journey with is and her favourite remedies. Cassandra is a health coach. Her health coaching business is Have Faith and Live Well with Chasadah LLC. She works from home helping busy women manage their chronic illnesses. Six years ago she reversed high cholesterol and pre-diabetes without medication. This is when the home remedies come into play. She has a science background as well and left that career for few reasons, not the least of which was her son.

Elvira chose to homeschool when her first child was ready for kindergarten because they lived in a cabin in the woods, an hour drive from any school. That was back in 1998, and she was completing her Waldorf teacher certification. Since then, She's homeschooled her own three children, and been a teacher to many more. Elvira started a homeschool co-op and completed her California teaching credential in 2010. She describes herself as an eclectic homeschooler; drawing from a variety of educational styles such as Montessori, Classical, and Unschooling.
She has a great love for learning, and recently completed a certification in applied positive psychology. Elvira has led workshops and family camps focused on social-emotional intelligence and conscious communication. She is also a homesteader and a farmer’s wife.
In 2017 Elvira wrote a book about her farming community. When She isn't working she loves to explore the outdoors and go on walks with her two dogs.

January 08, 2024 009 | Never Say Never, Building a Life Together with Synthia Miller
As a new parent, Synthia's initial goal was to provide the best for her children and ensure their happiness and success. However, the reality of parenting quickly became overwhelming and frustrating, leaving her unsure of how to effectively raise her kids. Synthia tried various methods to get them to cooperate, but it often resulted in more punishment and resentment on her part. Growing up in a chaotic and traumatic family environment, with a single teenage mother who moved her around often, she knew she needed a different approach that was kinder but still held them accountable for their actions.
Synthia discovered the power of positive parenting and life coaching as a means to achieve this. By focusing on her own thoughts and emotions through coaching, she was able to gain valuable tools to help her children thrive while remaining calm and loving. The trauma of her own fertility challenges, including postpartum heart failure, was still fresh when she started to truly invest in healing and in helping others who have been faced with trauma as she had. Synthia began learning about energy work and therapy modalities like Reiki and clinical therapies. She discovered along the way that many of her friends and loved ones were also struggling with similar issues, and it became her goal to help all parents feel like their struggles are normal and can be navigated and processed in a healthy way.
Synthia's mission is to assist others who have also been affected by trauma to find their own paths of healing while continuing her own journey of self-discovery. As a parenting coach, she uses her own experiences and knowledge to guide parents through their own struggles and challenges. She helps them understand the impact of trauma on their parenting and provide them with tools and strategies to create a positive and nurturing environment for their children. She am dedicated to helping parents heal and grow, so they can raise happy and successful children.

January 01, 2024 008 | My Lovely, Crazy Life with Amanda Preston
Amanda and her husband lived in the suburbs in BC outside Vancouver and lived a pretty normal city life. They adopted their 8 kids and they all are neurodiverse. They wanted them to have the ability to have more space so they moved to Alberta and bought an acreage. Once they began that journey they realized they wanted to be more self-sufficient and be the source for as much of their food as they could, oh how I can relate to that! This interview was recorded after only 1 year of them having moved to their land. They started off by building a huge veggie garden and planting a bunch of fruit trees. They also got chickens for eggs and meat. Then in the summer they got sheep, and they have their first dairy cow and pigs coming in the spring. Their goal is to also add in bees, and learn how to can food, and dehydrate and freeze dry to help preserve the food they grow so it can last through the winter. They learned how to winter sow (as it snows a lot where they are). They did homeschool for a while but are not currently, though they contemplate going back to it all the time. Amanda and her family love building their homestead and plan to continue learning more about traditional methods and providing more natural, from farm to table options for their kids It has been a great opportunity for them to learn farm chores, helping with animals, building fences, etc.

Tanisha describes herself as a determined individual who has experienced a significant personal journey. As a single parent of three children, has taken on the responsibility of homeschooling them off and on while actively pursuing her beliefs in providing them with the best education and life skills, irrespective of societal expectations.
Her path to self-discovery and confidence seems to have been shaped by her experiences, including a divorce. It was after this challenging period that she felt empowered to embrace her true self and fully commit to her entrepreneurial aspirations. She decided to pursue entrepreneurship (after many attempts of working for others) likely stemmed from a desire to provide for her family while staying true to her own identity.
Throughout her journey, she has embarked on a spiritual quest that led her to shed the expectations imposed by society and others, which allowed her to guide her children in a way that aligns with her values and made space for them to discover their own values and beliefs. This journey towards spiritual and personal freedom hasn't been without its trials, as Tanisha battled depression, health issues, and loneliness. But her determination and resilience helped her to overcome these obstacles and continue growing as an individual.

Mary Jo Thayer is an award-winning American author, educator, women's mentor, and public speaker. In her early career, she taught high school English and coached cheerleading in New Kent County, Virginia. She earned a master's degree from Michigan State University, while homeschooling her four children, and later taught moral theology at Lansing Catholic High School.
A natural extrovert and people lover, Mary Jo's primary fun activities include grandchildren, water skiing, pickleball, traveling, and hosting gatherings.
She is the eighth of eight children and grew up in Grand Ledge, Michigan. She is married to her high school sweetheart, and together they raised their four children with faith, courage, and enthusiasm.
