November 30, 2020Homeward Path 96: We Are LegionBound by honor, a sense of duty, and the oaths they took when they joined, the Boros Legion act as the de facto police force and military for the plane of Ravnica. What about the in-game stylings? While they don’t have the best pedigree on the competitive scene, Boros decks still serve a key role in the average set’s design, and offer a ton of options to someone who wants a unique approach to their next Commander project. Also, just becuase it’s not “good” doesn’t mean it isn’t fun. October 11, 2020Homeward Path 89: Responding in the Negative One of the most-maligned, most exaggerated archetypes of all times is Draw-Go. Believed to be nothing more than a pile of counterspells and a couple of win conditions, and difficult to play, the truth is much simpler. It’s an archetype that rewards format knowledge, patience, and commitment to concept. Similar to Red Aggro decks, you’re actually frequently operating with worse cards than your opponents, and trying to dictate the terms of engagement to your opponent. We’ll be looking at it as I share my list for Standard this week!
