In honor of the Little Sisters of the Poor and their legacy of generosity and service to the poor in the Archdiocese of Denver, Archbishop Aquila celebrated Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception. Faithful from around the Denver metro, joined by Archbishop Aquila, Cardinal Stafford, and countless others, came together to pray for the sisters, both in gratitude for their ministry and in petition for their new assignments.
On the occasion of the installation of the new pastor of St John XXIII in Fort Collins, Archbishop Aquila visited the community and preached on the readings for the 30th Sunday in Ordinary Time.
On the occasion of the installation of Christ the King in Denver's new pastor, Fr. Rocco Porter, Archbishop Aquila celebrated Mass for the community on the Twenty Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time.
On the occasion of the Ordination to the Transitional Diaconate of a number of seminarians, Archbishop Aquila celebrated Mass at Christ the King Chapel of St. John Vianney Theological Seminary. At a parish Mass opening the FIRE Foundation's annual gala fundraiser, Archbishop Aquila preached on the importance of humility. The FIRE Foundation seeks to make Catholic schools more inclusive, building the support needed for these schools to educate children with special needs.
