Pray without ceasing. We hear this phrase often, but for many it can seem too daunting a task. But what if, instead, like Abraham praying for Sodom or the friend begging for assistance at night, we pray persistently? In the first reading of the day, we heard about Moses working and tending to the Lord as He visited in the guise of a man. But in the Gospel reading we hear about Mary and Martha receiving Jesus as a guest, and when Martha asks Jesus to reprimand her sister for not assisting in attending to Him, He seems to scold her in telling her that Mary has chosen the better part.
