Jesus challenges us to enter into the messiness of the lives of the poor. To invite the poor to seats of honor in our homes for lunch and dinner. There is something particularly powerful when someone, who does not have to, bends down to help someone in need. How is God calling us to respond to the needs of the poor and build up his kingdom...his presence here on earth.

With the help of the Holy Spirit we must unlearn our worldly ways. We must be rewired and reoriented to live in the Spirit and not in the flesh. And there is nothing more frequent or powerful that Lord tends to use to accomplish this "unlearning"...this "requiring" in us--our trials and sufferings. Let us thank God for the challenges he allows in our lives which help us learn to surrender completely to him and enter into a life in the Spirit.
