Chris grew up Japan, as well as Maryland, where he attended Stephen Decatur High School and played basketball and ran track. He participated in basketball leagues at the Ocean City Recreation & Parks Department. In college he attended University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Salisbury University and finished at Virginia Wesley and received his Degree in Recreation & Leisure Studies.

He has served as the Director of Salvation Army Boys & Girls Club in Baltimore and later served as Executive Director, moved to Loudoun County Parks & Recreation in Northern Virginia and now at Takoma Park Recreation, City of Takoma Park, Maryland.

The 118th Hondo Handy’s Podcast talks about the possibility of my book, “Defying Expectations,” making an appearance at Super Bowl LVII, in Arizona, in the game between the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs. It also talks about Chris Parker, who grew up in the Berlin/Ocean City area, played sports at Stephen Decatur High School and participated programs at the Ocean City Recreation & Parks and is now a Recreation Manager for Takoma Parks & Recreation in Takoma Park, Maryland.
