Forgiveness is this glorified idea in spirituality and an attractive goal in the personal development industry. We say "you need to forgive them... For your own sake". In Radical Honesty, we also talk about forgiveness but it's not a goal, nor an ideal state. It's an accident.

Like compassion, forgiveness emerges from emotional completion naturally. You don't need to create forgiveness, just like you don't need to actively create connection. When you address and integrate what's in the way to experience connection and forgiveness, they happen.
