Surf Report for Honolulu Hawaii

Honolulu, HI Surf Report for 02-19-2025

Listen Later

Aloha, wave riders! Get ready for some serious swell action in Hawaii this week. We've got a massive west-northwest swell charging toward the islands that's going to light up the north and west facing shores with some serious juice.

Right now, a High Surf Advisory is in full effect, so listen up! Kauai's looking at north facing waves hitting 14-18 feet - that's some serious wall of water. Oahu's not far behind with 12-16 foot monsters, while Maui's cruising with solid 10-15 foot sets. The Big Island's west side will see respectable 6-8 foot waves.

This epic swell isn't just a one-hit wonder. We're looking at another powerful pulse rolling in Thursday that'll keep the advisory conditions going. Expect these monster waves to briefly calm down between swells, but don't get too comfortable.

For all you east coast surfers, don't get too excited. You'll be dealing with some pretty mellow 1-3 foot ripples. The trade winds are keeping things pretty chill on that side of the islands. South facing shores are looking at similar small surf, with a tiny boost expected midweek.

Weather-wise, we're talking mostly sunny days with some scattered showers to keep things interesting. Temperatures will hover in the low 80s - pretty much perfect Hawaiian conditions. Winds will be playing musical chairs, shifting from southeast to southwest, then east throughout the day.

Pro tip: Always check local beach conditions and never surf alone. These waves are no joke, and safety should be your top priority. Rip currents are going to be no joke with these big swells.

Surf's up, Hawaii! Catch those epic waves, but stay smart out there!
