Aloha, wave riders! Get ready for a serious swell heading our way across the Hawaiian islands this weekend. A powerful west-northwest pulse is charging in, and things are about to get seriously epic.
North and west facing shores are set to see some serious action. We're talking surf heights climbing to advisory levels, potentially peaking around 15 to 20 feet on north shores of Kauai, Oahu, and Maui. Kauai's looking at a wild ride with north facing shores building from 9-12 feet tonight to a massive 15-20 feet by Sunday afternoon.
Oahu surfers, buckle up! Your north shores will light up with 10-15 foot waves overnight, ramping up to a thundering 15-20 feet by Sunday afternoon. West facing shores won't disappoint either, serving up solid 12-16 foot faces that'll get your adrenaline pumping.
The High Surf Advisory is in full effect for Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, and Maui's north shores through Sunday night. Meteorologists are even keeping a close eye on potentially adding the Big Island's west shores to the mix.
Weather-wise, expect mostly sunny conditions with some isolated showers spicing things up. Temperatures will hover in the lower 80s, and winds will be dancing between east and southeast at 5-15 mph.
Pro tip: While these waves look incredible, respect the ocean. Rip currents will be aggressive, so enter near lifeguards and know your limits. This swell is not for the faint of heart!
Surf's up, Hawaii! Stay stoked and stay safe.
