Aloha, wave riders and beach lovers! Get ready for a surf report that's gonna make your weekend epic.
Hawaii's riding some serious northwest swell action right now, with big waves crashing along north and west facing shores. We're looking at some seriously impressive surf heights tonight - north facing shores are throwing down 18 to 24 foot faces, while west facing shores are delivering solid 12 to 16 foot rollers.
The good news? This current swell is gonna gradually calm down overnight, dropping to more mellow 15 to 20 foot faces by morning. By Sunday afternoon, we're talking a more chill 7 to 10 foot range for north shores and 5 to 7 foot waves on western coastlines.
But don't put away your board just yet - another potentially larger northwest swell is brewing, expected to arrive late Monday and hang around through early Thursday. The National Weather Service has dropped the High Surf Warning but kept a High Surf Advisory in place for north and west facing shores across Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Maui, and the Big Island's western coast.
For all you south and east shore surfers, sorry - you're looking at tiny 1 to 3 foot waves. Basically flatwater conditions.
Weather-wise, expect partly cloudy skies with some isolated showers. Temperatures will be sweet - mid 60s overnight climbing to lower 80s during the day. Winds will start east and shift southwest, blowing around 5 to 10 miles per hour.
Sunrise and sunset times are looking prime - catch those golden hour waves! Just remember to check local beach conditions and stay safe out there.
Surf's up, Hawaii!
