Surf Report for Honolulu Hawaii

Honolulu, HI Surf Report for 03-08-2025

Listen Later

Aloha wave riders and ocean enthusiasts! Your weekend Hawaiian surf report is dropping right now.

Get ready for some seriously pumped north and west facing shores with a high surf advisory in full effect. We're looking at impressive 12 to 16-foot swells in the morning, ramping up to a solid 14 to 18 feet by afternoon. This northwest medium to long period swell is courtesy of offshore buoy 51101, which has been steadily rising overnight.

Expect these epic waves to gradually calm down tonight and through early next week, with the swell direction shifting slightly toward the north-northwest. Pro surfers take note: today's conditions are going to be pure magic for those seeking some serious wave action.

East facing shores are holding steady with consistent 6 to 8-foot surf, driven by those persistent trade winds. These conditions might even intensify early next week, potentially boosting windswell around Tuesday and Wednesday.

South facing shores are keeping it mellow with small 1 to 3-foot waves. But don't write them off completely - a tiny long-period south-southwest swell might sneak in next Wednesday.

Weather-wise, we're looking at partly sunny skies with scattered showers across the islands. Temperatures will hover in the upper 70s to low 80s, with northeast winds dancing around 15 to 20 miles per hour.

UV index is cranking up to very high, so slather on that sunscreen, grab your board, and get out there and shred! Aloha and catch some waves!
