Surf Report for Honolulu Hawaii

Honolulu, HI Surf Report for 05-25-2025

Listen Later

Aloha, wave riders! Buckle up for your weekend surf forecast from across the Hawaiian islands.

The south shores are serving up a tasty swell right now, with wave heights cruising between 3-5 feet. This long-period south-southwest pulse is peaking today and will gradually mellow out early next week. But don't pack away your board just yet - another similar swell is rolling in Wednesday and Thursday, promising another south shore surf party.

East facing shores are holding steady with consistent 2-4 foot waves powered by steady trade winds. Expect these conditions to stick around through the weekend before slowly tapering off midweek.

North shore surfers might want to temper expectations - we're looking at tiny 0-2 foot waves. However, surf enthusiasts can get excited about a potential north-northwest swell brewing near the Aleutians. This could deliver some medium-period waves by late next week.

Temperature-wise, we're sitting pretty in the low 80s with mostly sunny skies and scattered tropical showers adding some island spice to the forecast. Winds will be blowing northeast around 10-15 mph, perfect for keeping things cool and creating some nice wave textures.

UV index is hitting extreme levels, so slather on that sunscreen and stay hydrated. Sunrise kicks off around 5:40-5:55 AM, with sunset painting the sky between 6:50-7:15 PM.

Rip currents are always a possibility, so swim smart and stay near lifeguards. Check local beach conditions before paddling out.

Surf's up, Hawaii! Catch you on the waves.
