The Kanawha Valley has historically produced high-level talent, including in the earlier 2000's. Guys like Patrick Patterson, O.J. Mayo, Josh Daniel, among others forever cemented their names in prep basketball.

Josh "Cookie" Miller, a former Capital High product, will forever be remembered by his game. He was an first-team all-state selection from his sophomore to senior season, including being a captain his senior year.

There have been great high school basketball teams in West Virginia. Teams like Northfork, DuPont, Martinsburg, and more have forever cemented their names in the books.

Charleston High School, which is now Capital High, was dominate throughout the 60s and early-70s. The school produced numerous collegiate talent, including Levi Phillips and Larry "Deacon" Harris.

The boy's state basketball tournament will begin this week at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center. When people think about the boy's state tournament, people may bring up how dominant Northfork High School was in the 1970's and '80s.
