The title, Of Hedges and Highways, came from Proverbs 15-19 -The way of the lazy is as a hedge of thorns, But the path of the upright is a highway.- This is not a comprehensive, exhaustive message on laziness versus uprightness. The objective is to 1- provide motivation to not be lazy, 2- review some of the consequences of laziness versus uprightness and 3- give some initial helps for how to overcome laziness and walk in the path of uprightness. This verse and this message is about the consequence of taking so-called -shortcuts- in life rather than staying on the well-marked, biblical path laid out in the Scriptures, as well as how to stay on the right path.
