The Antagonist

The World.  The Christmas story is set with huge and powerful characters fighting to oppose God's work.  These antagonists fight without mercy to stay His hand, but whither and fade as God's love wins the day.  

The Protagonist  

Romans 5:9-10  

God.  People often think that the world is divided into categories of good and bad people.  Those fighting for the good cause are the protagonists, those for evil are the bad.  But the Christmas story only has one protagonist, God is going to begin something that evil cannot stop.  Even the evil in us.

When the supernatural becomes natural; when God's miraculous work is normal in our lives.  That's what the baptism of the Holy Spirit is meant to bring.
