Today we get into Romans 12 and the last great theme of the letter.  Romans started with the Bad news first.  It’s worse than you thought!  For all have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God. Then the good news. God demonstrated his love for us in this that while we were still sinner’s Christ died for us.  Romans is a deep dive into the full scope of God’s salvation.

As a result of the amazing way in which God has worked out our salvation, we see that we are called to a life of service unto God.

"God’s Story follows the pattern of creation, fall, redemption, and new creation.

The Bible begins with creation stories, where God the Father creates a good and perfect world, a world teeming with life and beauty and filled with his Spirit.

But the Story goes on to describe the corruption and brokenness caused by the fall to sin and death.

You see, the people that God had made in his image tragically reject him and rebel against him bringing a curse on all creation that we still suffer from today!!"

Application from todays message:

-Maybe it reminds/convicts you that you’ve been lazy about sin, making compromises in your life, taking salvation for granted. If so, let it move you today to repent & draw closer to Jesus & take more seriously your walk w/Jesus.

-It should create some humility in the Christian, to remind us of Grace of the Gospel. That all have sinned, all were enemies of God, but by His goodness/grace, He brought us into His family, w/all the benefits, we didn’t deserve salvation, we can’t & certainly didn’t earn it. Let it move you to celebrate w/thanksgiving, yet w/great humility the goodness of God.

If you receive a gospel that is all about YOU... YOU will likely struggle and question the authority of God in your life. The moment God or His Word says something that feels wrong TO YOU, you push back.

This is a completely different Gospel message!
-The gospel is that God saved you, according to HIS great riches and love.

-The gospel is that you are incredibly worthy... of deserving Wrath! But GOD, who is rich in mercy, bore your sin and the wrath of God in your place, in Jesus on the cross. Making you worthy only through his sacrifice!
-The gospel is new life! A life to live no longer for YOURSELF, you’ve already done that! But a life that was created IN HIM, BY HIM, and FOR HIM. And so yes, you have a wonderful purpose but it is only wonderful because it is God’s purpose that you are invited to participate in!

The gift of God’s Son is the promise that He not only protects us – He also provides for us.

There isn’t a need that you have that God will not meet according to his riches in Christ Jesus. 

The hard part for us is the timing of God’s provision and the understanding of what we really need in contrast that what WE think we need!  God who created us knows us best, he knows us better then we know ourselves! He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?
