On this Easter Sunday we cross over from the chapters of judgement into the chapters of Hope. Isaiah 40, are words of hope and comfort to the people of Israel in exile and are words of hope spoken to each of us today, from a God who is the creator of the heavens and pays for our sins.

In the middle of Isaiah we break from poetry and in Chapters 36 to 39 we are given the historical account of King Sennacherib's conquest of Judea and the miraculous salvation of Jerusalem. In this talk Chris looks at the enemies tactics and the godly response the people gave, ending by considering if we can pray about difficult circumstances that we're partly to blame for.

Ed explores Isaiah chapters 24 to 27 which contrasts and compares two cities. One which will be ruined and destroyed and one whose inhabitants trust in the Lord Almighty, are saved and become citizens of an eternal kingdom that will never be destroyed.

We move into the next section of Isaiah with 12 oracles of judgment on the surrounding nations. In this talk Chris, explores these oracles specifically looking at Isaiah chapters 13 & 14. The new testament interprets the Day of the Lord as Jesus second coming, and in order for us to not receive this same judgement, we are to put our trust in him, the one who received this punishment on himself, on the cross.
