"He put before them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed that someone took and sowed in his field; it is the smallest of all the seeds, but when it has grown it is the greatest of shrubs and becomes a tree, so that the birds of the air come and make nests in its branches.”
Matthew 13: 31-32
This sermon takes a look at the parable of the mustard seed (Matthew 13:31-32). In this parable, we find Jesus comparing the Kingdom of heaven to a tiny mustard seed that grows into a beautiful tree providing a home within its branches. But trees also provide shade and comfort to those who have not yet made their nest in the branches. How should this affect the way we interact with the world around us?
