The pastorate is a dangerous calling but it is also an honorable calling. Paul gives Timothy four key instructions regarding the compensation, protection , correction and selection of a pastor.

The work of building up God's church requires accountability. Living in community means that we have to help each other along the path of sanctification. That means that encouraging correction is required. However, the correction must be carried out with a sense of family in mind.
