Daily life introduces us to various causes to fight for, from the fight for survival to the fight for our nation to the fight for wealth and health. However, only one fight is labeled by God as the good fight. It is the good fight because of the cause itself and the eternal outcome it promises.

In this present culture war the fundamentals of society are being challenged and redefined. 1 Chronicles 16-9-11exlains how the Christian should live in a secular world and the value of God's word for his people and even for a nation.

Suffering is a universal experience but when it reaches our doorsteps it is easy to question God. In John 9 the disciples wondered who was to blame for a beggar's blindness. Christ's surprising response puts the blame not on human fault but in the lap of God's providence.

The outward religious form of the religious leaders landed them the label of being -the blind leading the blind.- It is easy to overlook the our blindness. Like us, it was easy for them to replace God's standard with their own and so justify their sin.

Daniel's interaction with King Belshazzar not only points to the sovereign rule of God over history, it also underscores the importance of following through on what God has already taught us. We are to influence the world around us as we live life with the knowledge that we are God's vessels.

In an ever increasingly antagonistic world, the Christian is to be like a vulnerable sheep in the midst of wolves, but in doing so, he is to be wise as a serpent and innocent as a dove. That is, he is to be discerning and knowing when to run or stand while being a person of integrity.

Christ's words -You are the salt of the earth- is spoken directly of the Christian. In order to impact the world around us, the Christian himself must be salted. Otherwise, the saltless Christian will have no value or ability to season, preserve, cleanse or fertilize this unappetizing world.
