Today we kicked off 2021 with a new message series, “Words to Live By.” Our first word was logos, which is the Greek word for word. As we begin this New Year, may we remember that Jesus is the visible image of our invisible God so He can fulfill God’s promises.

2020 has been a year full of ups and downs, and we need a little Christmas, don’t we? Perhaps you are approaching this Christmas season similarly to the Charlie Brown character, who was seeking a new meaning to this holy time. If you are like Charlie Brown, you need it to be different!

We will prepare our hearts, minds, and lives for the glory of Christmas this year using themes from “The Charlie Brown Christmas Special” in this year’s December series, “The Christmas Star.” Each Sunday in December, as well as on Christmas Eve, we will seek to discover the true meaning of Christmas by exploring virtues such as simplicity, transformation, appreciation, and redemption…you will not want to miss it!

This week Hope we concluded our November message series, “The Good Work.” Pastor Mark explores how to handle adversity while going about our good work. He will discuss selected verses from Nehemiah 4 to find inspiration for keeping our focus on God as opposed to those who seek to hold us back.

Pastor Mark will deliver the third installment of our “The Good Work” series, honing in on how Nehemiah was able to convince the people to “be somebody” in order to get the wall built in record time; our Bible lesson comes from Nehemiah 2:17-18. 

Each one of us has a good work to do. We may not see it yet, but it’s often right there in front of our eyes. For Nehemiah, it was a crumbled wall. For you, it could be an injustice in the world, or a need you see what no one else does. During this series, we will learn how Nehemiah responded to his own calling and learn how we can change our own world just by leaning into the unique calling that God has put in front of each of us.

This four-week series will take a closer look at the good work God called Nehemiah to do and show us how his story can be an example in our own lives. God has called us all to a good work in our world, in our neighborhood, or in our family. This series will challenge us to find our purpose, understand our opposition, and give us the tools and encouragement to live out our calling.
