Jesus calls out the hypocrisy of the Pharisees and highlights the true generosity of the widow who, though she gives little, sacrificed much. Jesus cares about the inside, and the heart, not these fake external things.

But Israel is just a smaller pictuire of humanity at large: tasked by God to look after his garden and rule over his world, we've filled it with brokeness rather than beauty. A time of judgement will come if we keep ignorning creation's owner - will you heed the warning? Will you change?

Jesus comes to the temple and puts a spanner in the works - so the religious leaders are out to get him. Buy why is Jesus so upset about what's going on at the temple? Because Jesus hates (fake) religion.
