Psalm 14 shows that the greatest folly is to deny God’s existence. The “fool” is not ignorant, but proud—living as if there is no God. This pride leads to corruption, sin, and a world marked by emptiness. Yet the Lord remains the refuge of His people, and in Christ, salvation has come from Zion. Though the world may mock, God will restore His people—and even in the face of unbelief, nothing can separate us from His steadfast love.

Psalm 13 shows us that seasons of sorrow are real, but they are not the end of the story. David laments his pain, feeling distant from God and pressed by his enemies—yet his sorrow turns to prayer, and prayer to praise. Even in trials, God remains steadfast, and like David we are called to trust His word, pray, and worship—moving from pain to praise through the victory of Christ.

Not all advice is good - even when it sounds reasonable. Psalm 11 reminds us that faith doesn't flee in fear, it stands firm in God's promises. Seek counsel, yes - but only follow what aligns with God's Word and your calling that He has given you. Trust in the Lord, not in the counsel of unbelief.
