The Gospel According to Mark // Chapter 1 verses 1-13

PERFECT LOVE // 1 John 4:12-21

On Valentines Day it just so happens that our scripture passage is one of the clearest passages in scripture on the love of God! He loves us with a perfect love. We can know this love and we are also to believe that He loves us. In this process our fear is cast out.

THE GOSPEL OF MARK // An Introduction

Getting the historical and cultural setting right is important to any study of scripture. So we begin our study of Mark by getting immersed in the historical and cultural milieu in which the Gospel of Mark was birthed.

THIS IS LOVE, THIS IS THE GOSPEL // 1 John 4:7-11

Love is the outflow of a heart which has received the Gospel. How do we know we have received the Gospel? Because we love.

TEST THE SPIRITS // 1 John 4:1-6

What is needed of every Christian? A discerning ear. When we hear prophecy or teaching that claims to be from God the Bible tells us we need to employ discernment. How do we do this?

LOVING IN DEED AND TRUTH // 1 John 3:18-24

How can we know if we're in the truth? If we love our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ in deed and in truth. What if we know we're not doing that fully, what then? The Apostle John gives us comfort and assurance that we're in God's hands.

CAIN VS JESUS // 1 John 3:11-18

How are we to love our brothers and sisters in Christ? Well, not like Cain 'loved' his brother according to John. We are to love one another after the example of Jesus.

BORN OF GOD // 1 John 3:7-10

According to apostle John being born of God means that a Christian will not continue in sin, in fact they CAN NOT. So does this contradict chapter 1 verse 8 of the same book? We take a look.

WHY HE CAME // 1 John 3:4-6

This week our study of 1 John takes us back into looking at the reason for Jesus's first coming; to take away our sin. Buky expounds on verses 4 to 6; what does lawlessness and sin look like today and how does Jesus truly save from these things?

THE BENEDICTUS // Luke 1:67-79

Zechariah is filled with the Holy Spirit and begins to prophesy and glorify God and ultimately speaks of his son's role in preparing the way for Jesus the saviour. Graham draws some parallels with the pattern of worship in the Church and expounds on what kind of saviour Jesus is according to this prophecy.
