  • Social Justice, Critical Race Theory, Marxism, and Biblical Ethics.

I stumbled upon this blog post entitled, “Reflections from a Christian scholar on Social Justice, Critical Race Theory, Marxism, and Biblical Ethics" written by Dr. Kelly Hamren, a professor at Liberty University. It was super informative and very grace-filled. It helped me and I think can help you too.

  • How should we respond to the growing list of crises in our world?

Today we answer a question sent in by Elisabeth...

What are practical and productive ways that Christians can respond to the world’s compounding crises (at this current moment, BLM/police brutality and the Yemen crisis, but at the rate we are going it’ll be something new tomorrow) in a way that allows us to both a) remember that God is in control and we have hope in Him and b) actually help enact meaningful change in our world in a gentle, gracious way? What should the balance be between trying to fix everything and finding rest in the unreasonable (by definition) but powerful hope that we have in a God who has already overcome the world?

Short version: How do we love our neighbor without despairing at all the neighbors left to be loved (and without yelling at all the neighbors who aren’t helping)?

  • The Law: Abolished or Fulfilled

What do we do with the OT law? Are we still supposed to follow it? Maybe just parts of it like the 10 Commandments? Jesus didn't come to abolish it, but to fulfill it. What does that mean for us?

  • Salt & Light

Jesus' declaration that we are the salt of the earth and light of the world are probably familiar, but they come at quite a timely moment.
