Christmas is a time of hope, but hope is not about wishful thinking or easy answers.  Instead, Ps. Kelsey Lasher tells us, hope neither changes our circumstances nor is changed by them. For all of us, there are some helpful tools for us in dealing with anxiety, but a simple truth is also incredibly comforting: God cares about us and our anxieties. A common notion is that if we pool our collective efforts, we can change the world. However, in practice, while activism is up, global suffering continues to increase, as well. What is missing in trying to bring about real change in the world? Ps. Tyler Zabor points us to the kind of change that brings lasting impact to societies in the person and work of Jesus Christ.

Conventional wisdom is that being true to yourself means listening to your heart. While our emotions can be incredibly helpful, this way of life can often leave us jumping from feeling to feeling in search of authenticity. Ps. Kelsey Shepardson encourages us that emotions are incredibly important, but they need to be informed by Scripture, reason, and reality. When our emotions are guided by the truth, that's when they can be really powerful.

"Different strokes for different folks." Conventional wisdom is that what is good for me may not be what is good for you. However, this perspective leads to some serious problems. Ps. Ike helps to point us to a deep human need for objective moral justice, and ultimately this is only found in Jesus.
