We learn that just as the Israelites were a people waiting for their promised messianic king, we are a people waiting for King Jesus to return – what can WE learn about trusting God's promises as we wait for our King's return?

This fall we embark on a journey through the book of 2 Samuel. In 2 Samuel, we get an up-close and personal look at King David - the "man after God's own heart" whose life and kingdom, in many ways, point prophetically to Jesus, but who equally demonstrates the fallibility of the human heart. The book clearly reveals the painful effects of sin on sinners and equally the faithfulness of God in those moments of brokenness in our lives.

This week's teaching is taken from chapter 1, so grab your bibles, and lets dive in together.

What do you do when everything feels urgent? Jesus gives us the answer in Luke 10 - Jesus replies to Martha's plea for help "Martha, Martha, you are anxious and troubled with many things, but one thing is necessary." Paul gives us a roadmap for dealing with urgency in Colossians 3.
