Title Hope for the Holidays

Scripture: Psalm 42

Every believer can find hope in any circumstance by understanding two truths about discouragement given in Psalm 42.

Truth #1: Discouragement is a real reality. (v.1-4)

1. Discouraged spiritually (v. 1-2)

2. Discouraged physically (v. 3a.)

3. Discouraged relationally (v. 3b-4)

Truth #2: Discouragement requires a real response (v.5-11)

1. Proclaim: remind yourself of the truth

2. Persevere: resolve to not give up

3. Praise: remember that God is greater
