A definite truth to Live by is Times of Refreshing Come from the Presence of the Lord. As all turn to Jesus, the living water and bread of life - we are renewed, refreshed, and revived in our very being - mind, soul, and spirit.

What’s your appetite for such a refreshing? As we yield to the moving Holy Spirit, we are filled afresh.

The beauty of being the temple of the living God, believers can encounter times of refreshing in Christ - anytime and anywhere.

Who likes to fish?

In many respects it’s a learned skill, from a place of passion for fishing 💚

Jesus was a master in drawing people into relationship with Father God. He told Peter and his followers he would make them fishermen of people. In fact, He told Peter to have a passion, a love for people. To feed them with the truth of the gospel. He invites us to do the same. To go to where the fish are, ready to cast truth in love 🎣

In John 4 Jesus shows all who consider themselves followers of Him, how to 'fish' for people. Pastor Andrew teaches how Jesus' although tired from his journey on route to Galilee, shows us how spiritual maturity and obedience to the Father translates into ministry - even when it's not convenient or goes against cultural norms.

Jesus' interaction with the Samaritan woman, is life-changing on many accounts. We can relate to the humanity of Jesus and our need for living water in Christ.

Today, embrace the way of the master fishermen of people.

'How to' videos are the stuff DIY projects and honey-to-do lists are made of! They provide a step by step instructions on how to complete a job. They make what seems impossible, possible. It's reassuring to glean wisdom and knowledge from those who have successfully navigated that path before.

Scripture is similar—it offers live changing instructions on how to walk in the newness of life in Christ Jesus. Jesus promised those who follow Him, would enjoy life and life to the full. THE FULL. How sweet is that!!!

The Apostle Paul in Eph 4:16-32 speaks of this new life in Christ. Offering the 'how to' walk in it. This involves a new of thinking, believing, and acting toward God and one another.

The beauty is we are not in this on our own. Operating under our own steam. Rather, we have the indwelling Holy Spirit guiding us and empowering us to walk wisely with our words and actions. Foster kindness over slander. Truth over falsehoods.

Think about it. Followers of Jesus are marked with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit. Signaling not only that we belong to God and that we will enjoy the promise of the future hope of eternity with Jesus, but also hope for today. The reality we can walk in kindness over anger, honesty over falsehood, and compassion instead of malice with the help of the Holy Spirit.

The Apostles teaching echoes through to today. Christ is calling you to embrace your new identity in Him. Embrace it whole heartily, for when you will encounter live changing transformation from the inside out.

The Bible tells us without revelation, people cast off restraint. Vision gives us clear direction on where we are headed. A desired future state and the best way forward. Can we follow any vision? Proverbs 29:18 tells us that as we follow divine revelation, the instruction of the LORD, via the written Word and the Word that became flesh in Christ - we will be blessed and happy in it.

The Word of God directs our steps in harmony with the vision and mission of heaven for our lives. In this message Pastor Andrew preaches from Revelation 21 on the vision of the desired future state of believers at the coming of the new heaven and new earth. At this conjunction is history, there are two possible states for people, those whose names are in the Lamb's book of life and are saved; and those who refuse Christ and perish.

The vision and ministry of Hope For Today keep this in mind. God does not desire anyone to perish but have eternal life in Jesus, and so this is to be our vision also.

In light of this, our focus is to share the transformative hope of the gospel and to help people thrive in their relationship with Jesus, through intentional discipleship and passionate outreach.

Our hope is in Jesus. Our desired future is assured by faith in Him.

Can bad company really corrupt good character? The answer is a resounding yes! We all know the impact of good friends and colleagues we surround ourselves with. One circle gracefully builds you up in truth and the other deceptively tears you down, 'brick by brick'. Thankfully, in Jesus, we are redeemed 😀🙌🏻🙌. We have been given grace upon grace to imitate his character and be the counterbalance in this world. Becoming more like Him, day by day, by the power of His Holy Spirit.

The Apostle Paul's words of exhortation in 1 Corinthians 15 to the believers in Corinth, ring loud and clear for us TODAY - "Bad Company corrupts good character".

Very practical isn't it? If bad company can corrupt good character, then good company can certainly help foster good character. Isn't this in line with the character modeled by Christ?

As Christians, we are members of the Body of Christ that is being built up and growing into the stature of Jesus Christ. We face the opposition of the enemy of our souls. Seeking to thwart the plans of God and knock us off the assignment of office. Nonetheless, in Him, we encounter grace for the forgiveness of sins and grace to walk more like Jesus in these last days. Free to embrace all He has for us. This is not a pointless act. Our faith in Christ is not meaningless, it is life. The counterbalance to the world. The very foundation on which we establish our today and tomorrow, to the glory of God.

In Week three of our message series Truths to Live By, we look to 1 John 2, on Cherishing the Anointing every follower of Jesus Christ enjoys. The promised Holy Spirit, a spiritual blessing in Christ, enables all to remain firm in the way and teachings of Jesus; in the midst of turbulent movements and deceptive teachings - seeking to make Christ followers sacrifice all that makes one a child of God.

In this message, Pastor Andrew exhorts the church not to listen or entertain this worldly allurement; but attentively embrace the timely warning for today. As even in 2023 we encounter antichrist movements and deceptive teachings contrary to our identity in Jesus. Nonetheless, by the anointing every believer has in Jesus Christ, we may be poised to discern and redeem all the work of the enemy - as we partner with Holy Spirit. As the turbulent waves of deception increase in these last days, we can discern deception and redeem what is contrary to our identity in Christ - through the anointing of Holy Spirit.

In Joshua Chapter 3, we are shown that when we consecrate ourselves to the cause of God's kingdom, we become vessels fit for service and encounter wonders by way of the grace of God. No obstacle is too big for God to bring you through.
