This is our second week going through the book of Acts. As we do this we are beginning to see that Jesus has started something VERY, VERY, VERY BIG that will transform the world.  In this sermon based on Acts 1:2 we learn that Jesus gave his disciples commands before He ascended to the Father. We go on to look at those commands individually. As we do so we get a better idea of what is ahead for Jesus’ followers in that day and also what it is that He wants for us in 2021. The passages covered are John 20:26-27, John 20:19-22, Luke 24:46-49, Mark 16:14-15, Matthew 28:16-20 and Matthew 10:24-25.

On this 2nd Sunday of Christmas we turn our attention towards the Apostle John's words found in John 1:1-14. Jesus Christ is the Word of God who was with God for all eternity prior to His conception in the virgin Mary and His entry into this world. He is also the Word of God who is God and He took on flesh and dwelled among us and showed us His glory. These truths are mysterious and beyond our limited human logic and understanding. While this is true, these mysterious truths demand our attention, and when we meditate on these mysterious truths we are changed by our God in a radical way.

The Valley of the Shadow of Death is real. In this sermon on Psalm 44 we see God's people faithfully walking with God and suffering because of it. This Psalm is their prayer in the midst of great affliction that the Lord has brought upon them.

How are we supposed to think about suffering for Jesus? How are we to pray when we are suffering? How is it ok for God to afflict His faithful people? We dive into all these questions and much more in this sermon.
