Life hits hard.  So hard that we tend to disconnect our feelings from situations to protect our heart and our sanity.  The danger in doing this is that if we continue along this path we'll get to the point where we don't feel anything anymore.  The love and compassion is on lock along with the pain and sorrow.  When life hits you hard feel the pain cry the tears and then hit it back by opening up to hope and compassion.
