Welcome to 2019 and new episodes of The Power House podcast—starting off the new year I have Eric Thomas on the show. Eric is a highly influential entrepreneur with more than 15 years of experience as a life and business coach. In addition, he is a fervent pastor with over 25 years of ministerial experience and has also served as a faith branding evangelist. His life assignment is to empower and impact people with messages of hope that inspire them to dream. He’s also the President and founder of the Impacting Your World Network—an incubator for church plants and faith-based business startups.

Eric is all about activating faith. While hope is important, it can also be a spiritual waiting room—waiting for God to show up in your life. But Eric knows God is already there on the inside, we don’t need to go looking outward. The key to activating your faith once you understand this is to know why you want to do something. Just wanting money isn’t enough. Money will come in time, but without meaning the venture ends up hollow and pointless.

Eric likes to say there are so many flattened squirrels in the road because they were afraid to make a decision. This applies to activating your faith as well—it’s easy to get bogged down by choices, the idea of failing, of messing up and letting that get in the way of taking a chance or a risk. But the truth is you never know what will happen until you actually do something and take that leap.

And if you are feeling stuck, unable to make those choices you can’t be afraid to ask questions. After all, questions qualify you for answers. God was always asking questions in the bible, it’s a necessary part of healing and growth. But answers only come after you ask the question—ask, seek, knock: ask.
