The Great Rescue Plan didn’t happen in a palace, it continued in a broken, messy world. Jesus entered not a perfect environment but a painful one. Born into dysfunction, poverty, injustice, and fear. But He didn’t come to pull us out of reality; He came to meet us in it.

The Great Rescue Plan wasn’t hidden in mystery; it was hidden in plain sight. Jesus arrived in the middle of the ordinary, the overlooked, and the unimpressive. The Light of the World was lying in a feed trough. The name “Jesus” meant “God saves” and yet most people missed the Saviour standing right in front of them. We still do. Advent invites us to stop writing our own rescue plans and recognise that God’s is already often where we least expect it…. in our waiting, our weakness, and our worship.
