THE WORK OF THE HOLY SPIRIT --Intro- With Lord's Day 20 the HC makes another transition, as it follows the Apostles' Creed- God the Holy Spirit.- In John 14-16 Jesus comforts his disciples and the Church by declaring to them that he will send the Comforter.--I. HIS IDENTITY-A. The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Holy Trinity.-B. He is the Spirit of Christ.-C. In John 14-16,17 the Spirit is given two other names--II. HIS SAVING WORK-A. The Holy Spirit powerfully and sovereignly makes us partakers of the rich blessings of Chrsit.-B. How does the Spirit work--C.
