Pastor John Lawson was born and raised in Elkton, Va. Pastor John was later called into the ministry. He studied at Nazarene Bible College. He then served on the pastoral staff at Lynchburg First Church of the Nazarene before returning to the valley in 2017 to join the pastoral staff at Harrisonburg First Church of the Nazarene. He and his family came to the Shenandoah Valley in 1994 where he was the pastor of Harrisonburg First Church of the Nazarene for 24 years. In 2018 he answered the call to become the District Superintendent for the Philadelphia District Church of the Nazarene.
