True thanksgiving flows from recognizing God's goodness rather than accumulating possessions. Psalm 23 reveals that the Lord as our Shepherd provides everything we truly need. When we understand that we are known personally by God and that He prepares a table before our enemies, our perspective shifts from what we lack to who we have in Christ. We live in a world obsessed with drawing lines and creating barriers between us and them. Following Jesus requires embracing the extraordinary and stepping beyond our comfort zones. The miracle of feeding 5,000 people with five loaves and two fish reveals a God who operates beyond natural understanding and calls us to radical faith. We serve a God who does the impossible, yet we often limit His power in our minds by wanting Him without the supernatural elements. Jesus has all authority and wants to work through us to transform marriages, save children, and change entire communities. When we pray with expectation and trust God rather than our circumstances, He provides abundantly - not just enough, but more than we need.

Jesus had a unique ability to see people from God's perspective and lift their vision of themselves. When He met Simon, He immediately called him Peter (the rock), seeing his potential for leadership before Peter could see it himself. Similarly, God renamed Abram to Abraham, calling him a father of many nations. As followers of Jesus, we're called to encourage others in the same way - not through grand prophecies, but by learning to see people through God's eyes and speaking life into them. The gift of prophecy is simply about strengthening, encouraging, and comforting others from God's perspective. When we create space to hear from God for others and look for divine appointments throughout our day, we can become vessels of hope and transformation in our communities.

Loving God begins with understanding who He truly is - not just a good teacher, but God incarnate who reveals the Father's holiness, sovereignty, and perfect love. Many follow Jesus for incomplete reasons, just as the disciples did before fully recognizing His divinity. Genuine love for God develops through hungering for more of Him, responding with wholehearted devotion, abiding in His presence, and walking in obedience to His commands. This love isn't about earning God's favor but about a transformative relationship that changes everything we say, think, and do.
