Throughout their history, God had required blood sacrifices from the Israelites for the atonement of their sins. But now, at the dawn of the long-awaited “New Covenant” God Himself would provide the sacrifice.

It was prophesied that the long-awaited true King of Israel would one day enter into the holy city of Jerusalem, riding on the back of a donkey, to be received with great fanfare. Five days prior to His crucifixion, Jesus fulfilled this prophecy.

Weeks before entering Jerusalem to celebrate the Passover, Jesus performed a miracle so powerful that it threatened to change the fabric of society. In order to preserve the peace and maintain the status quo, the Sanhedrin determined that Jesus must die.

When we rely on the power of Christ, we become more than conquerors. We become unstoppable.

As we go through the transformational process of dying to self and being reborn, Christ's intention is to make us more like Him.

If given the option, we would always choose the easy path over the hard path. If given the option, we would only invite joy into our lives and never suffering. If given the option, we would always choose comfort over discomfort. But strength of character is not developed along the easy path. Strength of character is forged through suffering.

When we are suffering, we often ask God to change our circumstances. But sometimes our circumstances don’t need to be changed. Sometimes what we really need is the grace of God.

To whom are you serving as an ambassador of Jesus?

We need to intentionally anchor our faith in the Gospel. Otherwise, we run the risk of getting lost in discipleship.

In order to understand the point of going to worship, we must first understand God's purpose for His Church.
