Today we are celebrating 10 Years as a Reconciling Congregation.  We and other congregations are a part of a network of communities who even though we are in the United Methodist system have declared that we stand outside its oppressive policies.  So it’s not all celebration.

As we celebrated "Kids' Sunday" at HopeGateWay, three teens from the congregation shared about their faith, friendship, prayer and more.

We've now reached the part in the story of David when we are reminded that power corrupts. King David, like many in power, believed that it was within his rights to do whatever he wanted to whomever he please. Recently many men have fallen from positions of power when their violations towards women have been found out. David was held accountable in a similar way by the Prophet Nathan.

As Sara tells this story we  invite you just to enter into the story as if it is a movie, a novel, and story that takes you in and carries you  along. Let go of the fact that this is THE BIBLE and embrace this skillful story telling.  Let go of what you think the Bible is and actually listen to this story which comes from the ancient scriptures which guide our  faith. You can take from it what you will, but there are many lessons here about what leadership is.  What integrity is.  What love is.
