What do you do when people walk away from the faith? How can someone who once seemed sincere drift into false teaching, shipwreck their life, or completely abandon Christianity altogether?
In 1 Timothy 1:12-20, Paul reminds Timothy that the gospel is not for perfect people, but for sinners in desperate need of mercy. Paul points to his own story as proof that Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners… and that no one is beyond the reach of His grace.
This passage confronts the reality of false teaching, spiritual drift, and deconstruction, while also holding out the hope of the gospel to weary believers, struggling Christians, and hardened sinners alike. The mercy that saved Paul is still powerful enough to save today.
