As we begin our Beyond the Horizon: Renewing the Covenant through Lent journey, we start by reflecting on God's invitation to renewal. Throughout Scripture, God calls His people to return to Him, to refocus their hearts, and to step into a deeper relationship.
In Jeremiah 31:31-34, God promises a new covenant—not one written on stone but on the hearts of His people:
"The days are coming," declares the Lord, "when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah... I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people."
This week, we reflect on what it means to renew our commitment to God—both individually and as a church. What areas of our faith have grown stagnant? Where is God calling us to surrender and trust Him anew? As we enter this sacred season, we are reminded that renewal starts with a willing heart, open to the transformative work of Christ.
