A short life lesson I think we learned while watching the film for our new SPOILER FREE review, Primate.

Nellie and Anthony went through all the emotions whilst watching a slasher/monster hybrid horror that has some of the most shocking body horror we've seen since Art the clown graced our screens and nightmares. He has been replaced by Ben, just because he's wearing human clothes and has an ipad does not make this furry family friend a friend at all.

On this Episode of Horror Roulette Podcast we are joined by the wonderful Clelia McElroy from Monstrous Flesh, her encyclopedic knowledge has really raised the tone of this podcast that enjoys a fart joke. Clelia bought along an INCREDIBLE wheel we've dubbed the "Women in Horror Wheel" and the fates have chosen the 1974 cult movie, Messiah of Evil, written and directed by Willard Hyuck and Gloria Katz of Howard the Duck fame. Clelia talks us through this uncanny watch and describes her love for liminal spaces and the Giallo style whilst Nellie coos over the camera angles and shots and how striking she found the bright red blood.

After the conversations of female representation and how the red flags are redder than the blood moon. Clelia's excellent knowledge gives Anthony's FUCK YEAH FILM FACTOIDS a run for there money, but he holds his own, even if he's becoming suspicious that he may be replaced.

We return... to the cinema to watch the very low rotten tomato rated, Return to Silent Hill to make our own minds up on whether this game to film adaptation makes Anthony want to dress up as pyramid head and parade around town scaring the living daylights out of everyone or want to be mutilated by the aforementioned sword weilding beast.

We have some game comparatives from the 2001 Silent Hill 2 the film's story is based upon and how juxtaposition, even in a Silent Hill movie, is way more important then it seems to be to the films writers.
